COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSPD) -- Early voting is underway across Ohio for the May primary.
There is only one statewide issue, renewal of a public works program to fund infrastructure updates.
Democrats will decide who will be their nominee to face Gov. John Kasich in the fall. Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald is running against a Dayton-area man, Larry Ealy.
"There are also a total of 614 issues around the state for local voters to consider," said Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.
Many of those issues deal with schools or safety levies. There are also local primaries for legislative, congressional, and local races.
"Several school levies, fire and police levies were decided by just one vote in the 2013 general election," said Husted.
Early in-person voting happens from 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday and 8am - 9pm on Monday, April 7, the last day of registration.
24,000 absentee ballots have already been mailed out for voting from home.
